Bed in Mansión Mérida Boutique Hotel - Restaurant
The hotel is a mansion lovingly converted into a hotel by the original owner’s great grandson Raul. He greeted us like family and made sure to check in all week to make sure we were being spoiled enough. The outside and interior courtyard featuring a large fountain are beautiful and the public areas inside are furnished with wonderful ceramics, paintings, furniture and plants. The restaurant in the hotel serves excellent food in the courtyard, the bar and a patio area right outside the main entrance. Waitstaff are so solicitous and friendly; it was a pleasure to see them every morning for our delicious breakfasts. We had room service one night, ate a snack on the patio one afternoon and had dinner there on a different day. The food never disappointed. All of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and it nice to meet the manager, Ivan who I had communicated with prior to our trip. The hotel is very close to the main plaza, shopping, restaurants and walking distance to Paseo Montejo which features some beautiful French influenced mansions built when Merida was one of the wealthiest cities in the world due to the henequin or sisal trade. Our room was large, had lots of storage for clothes and had stenciled walls and a sitting area in addition to a desk. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also large and had great water pressure in the oversized shower. We spent a week there including Christmas and got to enjoy trips to cenotes, the ruins at Uxmal and a day at the beach near Progreso. We also enjoyed a festive Christmas Eve hotel dinner with live music, decorations and a special menu featuring 4 courses and wine. We will definitely stay again on another trip to Merida. It is rare to find such personal attention and relaxed atmosphere in an historical building. Great work Raul!!

My mom and I were lucky enough to spend a few days over Christmas at Mansion Merida. Upon arrival, the architecture, art and design are visually stunning. But beyond how gorgeous it is, and how spacious and elegant the rooms are, the people make this place splendid. There was warm and attentive service from the moment of arrival – valet, chaya drinks, introduction to the room, breakfast, poolside service, the beautiful in-house Christmas eve dinner, turndown service, surprise beach bags/hats/bug spray for a jaunt to Progreso. Raul is a gracious host, checking in with us to chat a few times a day, and has amassed a kind, 5-star staff. Gracias por todo!

Real gem The hotel has beautiful decor, elegant furnishings and it’s centrally located in the historic district. Hotel stuff was friendly, helpful and professional. The owner Raul was very welcoming and made us feel like at home, made sure that he got to talk to us when we arrived and before we left. Very comfortable beds, extra large rooms, every room had a safe, spacious closets, bath robes, slippers and the housekeepers made sure the rooms were clean every morning and evening. There was a beautiful fruit basket for us when we checked in and we got cookies every night. This is a very special property and we would love to come back soon.

OMG, we were blown away by the absolute beauty of this historic building, the comfort of our room plus the location was absolutely divine. The staff were from beginning to end helpful, kind and so friendly. Our room was quiet, cool and clean. The decor is tasteful; giving you a sense of being in someone's colonial mansion more than a hotel. Lot's of places to sit and read or sip a cool drink in the heat of the day. The location was perfect. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see in the historic center.

This hotel is really superb!! It's like stepping into another world. The grandeur, the decoration in every detail it's perfect. The staff is excellent and takes care for you as if you are their best familie. the hotel is situated at a nice square in the city centre. The room was very spacious and very very well decorated. At last but not least, the bed is super, maybe better than our own Hastings😁.
